Jean-Philippe Bedell leads research and teaching on environmental mobility of pollutants in urban soils/sediments. His research activities focus on plants, micro-organisms and earthworms and impacts on pollutant mobility. He has co-organized and managed several studies and has supervised several students including seven thesis. His publications deal with several general thematic and issues like environmental pollution, ecotoxicology, ecology, with specific attention paid to plant diversity and plant physiology in urban stormwater basins.

He co-leaded the team of LEHNA-IPE (UMR 5023) at ENTPE.
