The team IPE of LEHNA conducts research on the impact of urbanization on subterranean ecosystem functioning. The scientific expertise of this group in the project concerns:
- urbanization influence on chemical and microbiological characteristics of groundwater bodies;
- characterization and assessment of hydrological properties of soils and water flow in the vadose zone;
- Study of preferential flow and pollutant transfers in heterogeneous porous media.
The group has expertise in field experiments, laboratory and modelling approaches. The group has a strong expertise in water infiltration experiments and among the leading teams internationally in the design and modelling of water infiltration experiments.
